RO-45 – Waste Water Ratio Test

RO-45 – Waste Water Ratio Evaluation
Goal: The RO system necessitates a discharge of 4-5 gallons of wastewater for every gallon of distilled water produced, meaning the optimal "Waste Ratio" should be within 4:1 to 5:1. If the wastewater volume is below this ratio, the Total Dissolved Solids (TDS) concentration will escalate. Consult Figure 1 for standard reference. To gauge the waste ratio, execute the following procedure: Close the tank valve, disconnect the BLACK drainage hose from its saddle and channel it into a receptacle to gather the wastewater. Disconnect the clear hose from Point C3 on the ASO, ensuring a slight flow of pure water. Collect 8 ounces of water from this hose, which signifies the PURE water yield from the membrane. Quantify the wastewater in the container—does it amount to roughly 4 to 5 cups? Record the wastewater volume and report the "Waste Ratio" correspondingly.
